#1 Introduction (newcomers please read)
Remember the skit on the Lyrics Born album “Later That Day” - where the guy gets told by the automated voice at the bank “You have no f***ing money” ?
Yep… this is me, pretty much, right now as I type this.
It’s May 4th 2008:
I have about a hundred bucks in the bank and a hundred cash.
I have spent the last 6 months and used my remaining financial resources studying internet marketing like a *maniac*, and working on an ebook that’s still way unfinished.
I am living in a trailer (thanks to a dear friend) and have no idea where I would be otherwise - there’s no way I can afford to pay rent right now. Through part time freelance music production, occasional live sound engineering and internet work (paid copywriting, html design and content management), am bringing in *just* enough money to eat well, pay my bills and cover my expenses.
I have a clean drivers license but no car.
I had to borrow $1500 to pay my tax bill.
My credit cards are all maxxed out - and when I applied for a loan recently, my bank declined; saying that my credit was “already sufficiently utilized” or something along those lines.
I was banned from Google’s Adsense program (viewed as one of the better ways to make money online) for some mysterious reason I cannot fathom. I did not commit click fraud. And I lost the entire $600+ that was in my adsense account.
My back’s up against the wall.
And…… I have a bet on. An extravagant bet with a close friend. A bet that I want to win.
I have to come up with a million dollars in one year, all earned honestly and cleanly; without receiving financial donations.
I have to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Without doing anything devious.
Doing it by the book - playing a clean game. Beating the system without gaming the system.
Playing hard, playing fair - and playing to win.
Do you think I can do it?
I’m pretty sure I can.
It’s going to be one crazy ride.

I really am going to do this - and give it everything.
The start date is May 4th 2008.
I’ll try out a boatload of internet techniques and methods, and publish full details of what I learn along the way.
“A Million In One Year” will hopefully become a great resource for all those learning about internet marketing and making money online - as well as for those who like a good yarn and an adventure story.
